Music supplied by IodaPromonet Artist - Betty Wright Track 1 - Pull your pants up Label - Ms.B Records/ Miami Spice Publishing Info Betty Wright (born December 21, 1953, in Miami, Florida) is a soul and R&B singer, who has influenced a generation of female singer-songwriters. The hottest members of the hip hop generation (including Tupac, DMX, and Li'l Wayne) have sampled some of her more famous material. Born singing gospel with family group the Echoes of Joy, Wright began switching to R&B music in 1965 when she was only 11. In 1968, she released her first album, My First Time Around, at the age of 15, and scored her first hit, "Girls Can’t Do What Guys Can Do". But it was not until the end of 1971 that Wright’s most successful phase of her career took place. The song, "Clean Up Woman", became a Top 5 pop and R&B hit, and would later influence a remix of Mary J. Blige’s "Real Love" single with the sample of its guitar riffs; R&B girl group trio SWV’s "I’m So Into You" also featured a sample from "Clean Up Woman," as did Afrika Bambaataa’s song "Zulu War Chant", and Sublime’s "Get Out!" remix. Beyonce has sampled "Girls Can’t Do What The Guys Do" for her hit "Upgrade U". In 1974, Wright scored big with the songs "Tonight is the Night" (about a real-life love affair that happened with Wright when she was a teenager) and "Where is the Love" (which won her a Grammy for Best R&B Song). In the early 1980s, she founded her own record label, Ms. B Records, and in 1988 made music history by being the first woman to have a gold record on her own label, with the release of Mother Wit, which featured two of her biggest hits in years, "No Pain No Gain" and the "After The Pain." On both songs, Wright displays her powerful upper register capabilities and seven-octave range. By 2001 a compilation album The Very Best of Betty Wright was released, along with her first studio album for several years, Fit for a King. Still recording music to this day, she now mentors several young singers, and has done vocal production for the likes of Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez and Joss Stone. She has also been seen on MTV as part of Diddy's hit series Making the Band.

Music supplied by ArielPublicity Group - Jessie Murphy in the Woods Track 1 - New York City Lights from RexRecords Info At the helm is singer/guitarist /songwriter Jessie Murphy- a critically acclaimed veteran of the NYC anti-folk scene. In 2008, while working on her Masters Degree in Music at Columbia University, she met and befriended Marcia Wood (Wurlitzer, flute, clarinet, harmonica, pan pipes and vocals) and Amy Wood (horn, cajon/percussion, flute, melodica, autoharp and vocals). Jessie, Marcia, and Amy are all NYC music teachers(just in case the plethora of musical instruments didn’t tip you off). Amy recalls “from the first time the three of us played together, it was just easy, noticeably so”. Marcia says, “When I heard Jessie’s lyrics, it impacted my playing, it was easy to picture sounds when I was working with her.” Jessie states proudly, “We had that magic thing right away, the right vibe and the right sound. We knew very quickly that we were a band.”And so The Woods were born. Sessions soon began for the trio’s debut album, Eight Belles. The first song “When I Am A Horse Again” is a lament to that perfect day so long ago. It is a sound out of time, classical performers playing pop forms, creating a swirling and mystical atmosphere that perfectly supports the lyrics. So far girls have toured the UK (where they were featured on Cambridge University Radio) and have played shows from Ithaca NY to Los Angeles CA. Jessie Murphy In The Woods are preparing to release their debut album, Eight Belles, in late Fall of 2009. The album is a gorgeous showcase for the players, emotionally affecting without becoming cloying or overly sweet. The final and title track of the album, 8 Belles, is a eulogy to a filly who died on the racetrack during 2008’s Kentucky Derby. In between are nine other songs about life, love, and horses. Jessie Murphy In The Woods has become a world unto themselves. Jessie enthuses, “The more time we spend and sing together, the more unified we become, and the more we have to give in our performances. We’re discovering the realm of our music as it happens.” Marcia says, “There’s a chamber like quality to our shows, a shared sense of intimacy.” On Eight Belles, you hear the sounds and magic of a band coming together. If their music sounds like a fairy tale, it’s fitting, for it's in its own glorious place and time. Now saddle up and ride along, it’s a long way to forever.
