Bio

Deirdre's music career began in 1996 when she was welcomed into the exclusive Irish choir An..na, where she soon became a prominent soloist in concerts all over Europe. She featured on their album 'Behind the Closed Eye' with The Ulster Orchestra.
In 1997, she was chosen by Michael Flatley to be the soloist in his smash hit sensation 'Lord of the Dance'. Cast in the role of 'Erin the Goddess' she performed extensively in the United States, South America, Canada and Mexico to great critical acclaim.

Early in 2002, she featured as the soloist with respected Irish/American pianist Eily OGrady on her sell-out US tour, paying tribute to Eily's late husband, Frank Paterson. On her return Deirdre joined forces with the legendary Dionne Warwick and completed a sweeping tour of the UK. She recently sang with rising star songstress Julie Feeney, on her Irish tour.

Most recently Deirdre has been touring the USA as a soloist in the new hit show 'Celtic Woman', the album of which remained at the top of the World Music Charts for over 82 weeks, earning Deirdre both a gold and a platinum disc from EMI/Manhattan Records in the process. She left the show in February 2006 to complete her new self-titled album 'Deirdre Shannon' and to persue her own solo career.

'The Prayer', one of the 13 songs on her album, just picked up an award for 'Track of the Year' from the massive internet radio station http://www.celticradio.net/. Another prize winning song from her album is the Irish classic 'She Moved Through The Fair'. Scottish radio station 'Lochbroom FM' recently proclaimed it 'Track of the Year', while the entire album was named 'CD of the Year' by the radio programme 'No Celtic Boundaries'.

October 2006 Independent Irish Artist MAJELLA MURPHY BIOGRAPHY With her guitar strapped to her back Indie singer - songwriter Majella Murphy cuts a curious figure as she zooms through the streets of Dublin on a skateboard almost as big as herself. The second youngest of seven children raised in Kilkenny one of Majella�s earliest memories was her first day at school at the age of 4; the children were asked to either talk or sing � Majella chose to sing and standing on a table proceeded to sing �The Streets of London� over and over and over again! Majella never got the hang of school, to put it in her words she �couldn�t fit into that box� she did however excel at Art and Sport, she also did well in music before getting kicked out of the class. Majella could never make plans for Tuesday afternoons � while the rest of her school mates were off enjoying themselves her Tuesday afternoons were always booked for detention. It was during these detentions that her Vice Principle recognised something in her and encouraged her to write � she became a prolific short story and poetry writer. As well as detentions she had a fair few periods of suspension perhaps the most controversial reason was when she and a friend polished off two bottles of altar wine and ended up in Accident and Emergency. Majella grew up listening to the music of her older brothers and sisters � Tracy Chapman, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, The Indigo Girls and loads more. At the age of sixteen she was given her first guitar and music completely took over, she taught herself to play and started writing songs. She played with other people � watched, listened and learned, she started busking and playing in bars. Day jobs have included working on a Christmas Tree Farm��..in January, Barmaid, Mac Donald�s Assistant and perhaps the pinnacle of her career managing to work her way from Trainee Manager to shelf stacker in a leading supermarket chain. The jobs she has enjoyed most involved working with children, she has an empathy with them perhaps because she is a child at heart. A true free spirit - Majella once went to Cork for a day and ended up staying for four years � she now lives in Dublin. On her debut album �Brave New World� released on CD and download on November 3rd Majella sings about real life regrets, joys, hopes, disappointments and aspirations in her versatile, pure yet powerful and beguiling voice, often with a hint of humour. Songs such as �Lunchtime� a poignant modern love song, the happy, carefree, optimistic �Dreaming� and the powerful �Mary Jones� where Majella sings of Mary�s insecurities, her hiding from the world and pleads with her not to give up, assuring her there is hope and she is not alone � Majella believes there is a bit of Mary Jones in all of us. Majella is an intelligent songwriter and charismatic singer with a definite glint in her eye. Grushenka Arnold was born in Dublin, but was not without musical influences as her father was part of the Showband era in the 1960s. Brendan Arnold played rhythm guitar with the Royal Blues showband fronted by Doc Carroll. Taking up piano at an early age, Grushenka was also taught guitar by her father. Following on to secondary school, she then took up saxophone and clarinet in a local marching band. After School she studied at the Bull Alley College of Performing Arts, a course which included voice training, singing/dancing and acting. Grushenka began writing songs when she was 16, but it was not until the age of 21 that she would perform them in Public. Since then, Grushenka has been performing and playing in bands while constantly writing new material. She played bass with a local covers band called Off the wall for two years before deciding to perform as a solo artist. This led to Grushenka winning the 2004 Battle of the bands/singer/songwriter competition as well as various other talent contests. Her first demo was recorded in 1999 followed by her EP in 2005. She is now working towards recording an album before leaving Canada. An album was recorded independently and released in 2004, featuring a selection of artists that performed at the Irish songwriters open mic nights. Bio

ODi is an Irish female singer songwriter originally from Co. Wexford in the south east of Ireland. She is now based in Leeds UK frequently returnig to her home country to perform.

She was raised on a diet of music, listening to and being inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, David Gray, The Frames, PJ Harvey and Radiohead to mention but a few. After taking in the music of such songwriters and the influences of the world around her, ODi is set to writing her first batch of songs. The results are stunning, her songs have already been described as "beautiful" "emotional" "exciting" and "well crafted". Combine these songs with her captivating and outstanding voice and a bit of Irish charm you have a very exciting prospect for the very near future and years to come.

On the live front ODi joins forces with Dave Redfearn on guitar and harmonies. They have started to win many fans around the UK and Ireland building up a strong live reputation. As an acoustic duo they put on an enchanting performance and are starting to work with various talented musicians to develop a full band sound for a busy 2007.

ODi`s debut single 'Crawl' will be released in Ireland, April 27th through independant record stores and via digital download backed up by a two week acoustic tour around Ireland, kicking off April 24th at the Ruby Sessions, Doyles, Dublin.

On her return from Ireland in mid May, ODi will begin her promo of the single 'Crawl' in the the UK with live dates across the country with a UK release set for late May.

Kimberley (Blonde,19) and Michaela (Brunette,17) are two sisters living in Dublin. They began their musical journey at the ages of four and six playing the fiddle and whistle and singing with a local Irish music group. From here they progressed to classical training with Kimberley on violin and Michaela on piano as well as playing the fiddle and flute with Clontarf Comhltas. As they reached their early teens, they chose to develop their love of singing and Kimberley began writing songs, while Michaela discovered her natural talent for harmonising. With many influences in the pop industry they began to develop a unique sound suitable to this genre.
 
To date they have written over thirty songs and are constantly composing new material. They have just completed a four track demo and their first photo shoot in the hopes of propelling their career to the next level.

Louise was born and raised in a field in Co.Mayo. At the tender age of eleven she wrote her first song and hasnt stopped writing since,her hand hurts. After school she moved to Dublin to take on college..this lasted ten weeks!After dropping out and wandering back to her field she heard of a voice coaching course in Dublin. She auditioned... and got in.score. She stayed here for a year having singing lessons and working in a recording studio. Her first demo was recorded in Novembr 2004 containing three original songs. This got sufficient airplay but not alot else. Feeling a little pissed off she once again wandered home to tend to the cattle. She recorde two more songs in 2005, one of which is called "Devil" and is featured on this page. It got great airplay from local stations and had a more defined sound than the first demo. Lets not talk about the other song she recorded.. its woeful. After a year she got incredibly bored and decided to move to Galway. She had great ambitions of starting a band and getting her act together.. instead, she got lazy,sold shoes and partied too much(how can you party too much?!). In the dark of the night she she filled out an application form for Csn college, Cork. She auditioned (with a song she finished writing on the bus journey there.. she is oh so organised)and much to her surprise they let her in. Bye bye Mayo,bye bye Galway. Helloooo Cork. She is now studying Music,Management and Sound. She is rehearsing with her college band and is still writing. God Knows where she will be next year. The featured songs: "Devil" is recorded in Chilli studio with the band "Franklin". It was written by Louise Cunnane and Shane Cunnane. "June" and "Lie Alone" are roughly recorded home demos. "June" was written in July but Mundy stole the name. This was written by Louise and Shane again. "Lie Alone" is more recent and was written by Louise Cunnane. Guitar playing by Shane in both songs... enjoy
