When you see Amanda Duncan in person, it's easy to think, "How does all that sound come out of that little body?" Never quite blessed with height, Amanda was blessed with one roaring set of pipes. And a knack for writing lyrics so honest, they cut right to the core of her audience.

After borrowing her uncle's guitar for a brief stint in high school, she soon realized that this whole music thing might just be more than a fling. She began writing songs about silly things at first, but as her musical understanding grew, so did her desire to really connect with people. She realized that if she was feeling strongly enough to dignify a situation with a song there must be others who could relate and benefit from hearing their own story. "There are so many songs out there that are reflective of negative issues of people's lives. I want to connect with the positive."

A primarily self-taught musician, she plays guitar, hand percussion, and most uncommonly, the mandolin. For those listeners looking for something refreshing, Amanda delivers. She infuses the pop country structure with a folkier sound than most current artists. But what really sets her apart from the rest is her dedication to simplicity and her traditionally acoustic sound, reminicent of the bluegrass style.

The Raygun Girls is an Alternative Hard Rock group heavily influenced by Gothic, Industrial, Punk and Metal music. The sound has been compared to Static X, Lacuna Coil, Killing Joke and Evanescence.

The band recorded an album, "The Ones I Denied," with members of The Clay People at Scarlet East Studios. The music is a true mixture of dance beats, metal guitars, catchy choruses, angelic/sexy vocals and aggressive lyrics.

After securing a record deal with KillZone Records, as well as a new lead vocalist, The Raygun Girls returned to the studio to record an EP as an introduction to the new and improved RG sound. The guitars are crunchier, the vocals ar more powerful, and the songwriting is tighter.

With the label deal, new singer and sound, The Raygun Girls are preparing to take on the world.

Girl Activity melds the in-your-face, buzz-saw guitar, and driving rhythms of the Foo Fighters sound with the understated, vulnerability of the vocal stylings of Liz Phair and influential indie pop group Belly. The group conveys a relaxed, plug-in-the-amp-and-let's-play attitude. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Jessie Ambriz heads up an eclectic bunch with roots in soul, R&B, rock and heavy metal. The very talented Nick Jaffe, also of the group Soul People, plays lead guitar. His dynamic presence contributes to the band's enthusiastic range of the rock-n-roll genre. Alyson Carrel, who was a member of Popcanon, keeps it tight and in the pocket on bass. Nina Talia, formerly of the soul-funk band Thrillhouse Collective, lays down the beats on the drums and shares song-writing credit along with Jessie.

Girl Activity credits its song-writing style to influences such as the Ramones, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, the Muffs, and the alternative rock scene of the '90s. The songs are laced with catchy hooks and melodies that you'll find yourself humming after listening.

The band has just finished their first record, Broken Hearts and Righteous Anger. Truly a labor of love, the album was written, performed, recorded, mixed and produced by the founders of Girl Activity, Nina and Jessie. Jessie Grace is a singer/songwriter from South Bucks, who began her life in music studying classical piano. She went on to teach herself guitar and it was then that she began to write songs. Her main musical influences include Radiohead, Raconteurs, Nirvana, Bjork and PJ Harvey and she has incorporated all of these influences into her debut album ‘Asleep on the Good Foot’, produced by Dave Draper. It has so far been very well received; gaining praise from local media, both on radio and online. Sharon Lang started playing music the day her brother Dave taught her how to play a two-chord guitar sketch. Since then, she has sailed the musical ocean of her mind learning the currents and waves and range of her talent until setting harbor here for a time. Hailing as lead singer of local groove and acid-rap band The Janissary, Lang has complimented her mysterious nature by presenting a whole other facet of musical capability.

The much anticipated release of her solo album, Lovers and Thieves (Digital release July 1 2009), is a showcase to her demure yet candid femininity. With her velvet vocals, mischievous lyrics, and an instrumentation capable of teasing you into bed, Sharon Lang has gone far beyond the expectation of her trip-hop roots and emerged a female performer prepared to allure her listeners with bona fide tunes.
