The band had its origin in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Originally called the Tullys and later known as Ghost Houses, they were a part of the music scene that produced such bands as Hum, Poster Children, and the Moon Seven Times / Lanterna. They played most of the main venues in town: the Blind Pig, Mabel's, Treno's, etc. They also recorded a bunch of 4-track demos as well as a couple of songs at Brendan Gamble's cozy Blanket Studios. In 2000, the band went on hiatus. Spiro was busy recording, producing and playing with the band Irradio. Unfortunately, after a revival of the live band, SharashkA officially disbanded in December, 2006. Please direct any future correspondence to Spiro Bolos, only. Thanks for listening.

Je me nomme Mélissa j'ai 15 ans et un rêve qui est en train de se réaliser... J'habite a saint raphaël dans le var, la musique est ma passion et je pratique le piano depuis 7 ans deja. Voila mon parcours en quelques lignes ...

C'est à l'age de 14 ans que j'ai décidé de chanter. Je me suis donc
inscrite a des cours de chant variétés qui ne m'on pas vraiment
apportés grand chose.

Un ans c'est écoulé et je me suis mise au chant
lyrique: les bases de la chanson . Cela m'a beaucoup appris et j'ai
vraiment decouvert une seconde famille.

Ici je ne dirais pas d'idioties du genre : "je chante depuis l'age de 5 ans" non je veux que l'on sache comment j'ai fait pour m'améliorer en peu de temps .

Au bout de 6 mois de chant lyrique j'ai fais mes premiers pas
sur scene en ouvrant un spectacle classique. Les spectateurs étaient nombreux et j'ai reçu des compliments de tous . Une fois l'année de chant terminée je me suis mise a composer des chansons et des morceaux de piano de genres différents (pop, variétés, symphonie etc ...).

Au début je fesais cela pour mon plaisir personnel jusqu'au jour ou mon père m'a entendu chanter une de mes compositions. Tout a fait conquis il a decidé de me faire enregistrer un cd qui serait composé de 3 titres. On a donc contacté un realisateur (Cédric Conti) qui était vraiment partant pour le projet. J'ai enregistré 5 titres au total et j'ai vraiment pris le plus grand plaisir a faire cela .

A 15 ans j'ai enregistré un cd, et bientot un album de 14 titres si tout ce projet se présente bien .

je vous laisse mes chansons et la place pour tous les commentaires bons ou mauvais car tout conseil est bon a prendre ... merci à tous ! :)

Jezebel was formed in 2001 by Helene Ring Teppan and Vivian Mari Ozalbo. At the time the band was called Go Brutal Sweeties and the first song was made in one week. The music was quite traditional pop/rock, and the name was found in a pin-up calendar from the 1920s. The band consisted of four girls and a male drummer.

After the band had been called Sidestreet Sirens for a brief period, the music changed direction with the birth of the song Simple Solutions. They then started using more untraditional elements; electric guitar played with a bow and more frequent use of unusual time-signatures. During the spring of 2003, the band changed their name again; this time to Jezebel. At this point the band headed for the studio for the first time and recorded a demo consisting of three songs: Blame Me, Strangest Patterns and Simple Solutions. Jezebel got their first opportunity at national fame, when NRK Petres radioshow for unsigned bands, Urørt, played Simple Solutions on air.

The time that followed is characterized by a constant evolution of the repertoire, active use of the Urørt homepage (where a live version of the song Dissect is listed as one of the favourites) and several gigs in Oslo. The music has become what it is today as a result of the band-members. The music spans over a lot of genres and you find elements of jazz, blues and prog as well as traditional pop and rock. Musical quibble, as some would say.

*2003 The band's first demo was recorded in May. Petre's Urørt airs "Simple Solutions" 21.10 og 24.11 .
*2005 Jezebel plays live and is interviewed on radio at Kanal 24s Tut og kjør w/Rune Hekkelstrand.
The Ep "Simple" is finished in July. Conserts at Betonghaven, Skuret, Blue Monk and Grønnlandshagen.
* 2006 Jezebel recorded new songs in December.

The Norwegain band ACELSIA, may be considered as melodic hard rock. Sometimes quiet and mellow, sometimes heavy and noisy - the band is recognised by soothing melodies, melancholy moods and Malene's emotional voice.

Acelsia started as a solo project in the summer of 2006. Malene wanted to record some of her songs and got Nils and some other friends to help her out in the studio. Happy with the result, Malene decided to take the project further and form a permanent band.

Marius and Håkon showed up for auditions and was soon chosen to join the band. After some time with no permanent second guitarist, the band got its current line-up when Odd Henning joined the band in the fall of 2007.

Acelsia has contributed to different compilation albums such as “Månerock vol 2” and “Norwegian Wood Music For China”. In the fall of 2007 they recorded a music video for the song “Christine”.

In the last couple of months, Acelsia has taken a new musical direction, away from the guitar based pop/rock to more complex and melodic hard rock/goth metal. With this changed expression, the band has found their identity. In March, 2008, the band recorded a demo to show their recent development.

Acelsia tries to create honest and genuine music with hopes that the emotions it conveys will touch the listener. The music is contrastive and emotional, and moves between one extreme to the other, from the soft and sweet to the more brutal and heavy, but always with a strong melody in the center.

There’s something undeniably seductive about jazz music- its glamour, sexuality and earnest, soulful roots all appeal to a comfortable, old-fashioned musical sensibility. A longtime jazz lover who began her eclectic career as a rock n’ soul siren on Island/Def Jam, Rosey is unique in her ability to find the delicate balance between both eras on The Luckiest Girl, her smoky, sensual, self-produced Quango debut.

Since we last heard from Rosey on that aforementioned 2002 freshman effort, her remarkable career has indeed taken many exciting twists and turns throughout several unconventional musical associations. Following instant national attention from her single “Love” landing on the Bridget Jones’s Diary soundtrack and “The Afterlife” scoring a slot in the Farrelly Brothers’ Shallow Hal, the tunesmith toured with the lauded likes of Melissa Etheridge and Morcheeba. Outside of her own interests, she’s also teamed up as a co-writer on many occasions, from hit maker Kelis to a number of burgeoning artists (with whom she doubles as a mentor) to writing jingles for commercials.

“I always dreamed of making timeless music, plus people have always told me my voice was well-suited to jazz and that I should try it,” she shares. “So I hooked up with [longtime friend and legendary session player] Hugh McCracken to record a bunch of standards. A few days into those sessions, we starting writing a song I called ‘The Old Fashioned Way,’ which really set the pace for the record. With everybody and their mom putting out a standards album, I knew I had to go full steam and write my own jazzy repertoire. I am a songwriter after all, so it just made more sense to do it that way. I do enjoy a good challenge, and musically, this one was massive. ”

ROBOTS IN DISGUISE are fronted by DEE PLUME (guitar and vocals) and SUE DENIM (bass and vocals). Part riot grrl princesses, part monsters of DIY musical mayhem, this maverick electro-indie-rock-dance duo has a reputation for fashion-forward style and energetic shows where Dee's guitar and Sue's grooving bass lines dance over chunky electronic beats and tell-it-like-it-is lyrics.

The Robots first met at a Le Tigre gig and quickly discovered a shared love of girl punk bands and so started writing music together.

The album begins with slow-burning pop and bright shining vocals, which lead you through a tour of romantic longing and crumbling industrial landscapes. This is Lindsay Sullivan's New York. Through her music and lyrics, the band Clair narrows a spotlight on individual moments, singular voices living their lives amidst everyday frustrations and classical arcs. Their debut, Long Road Home, veers from clamorous rock to pensive, piano-driven sketches, traversing a wide stretch of musical and emotional ground.

Sullivan, Clair's vocalist and songwriter, has lived in New York for most of her life. "I've played piano, sung, and written various things (plays, short stories, etc.) since I was a kid but never officially started songwriting until my first band, Mason Dixon," Sullivan says. In 2005, Sullivan left the Americana-fueled Mason Dixon to assemble her own band. She soon encountered her old friend and guitarist Brendan Boehning, who quickly became a mainstay of the group, co-writing the music for Long Road Home's "Every Day" and "Gun to My Head." "We've been really lucky getting great musicians to play with us," says Sullivan. "Right now we are working with Lizzie Carena who is a talented vocalist, Dan Loomis, a very respected jazz bassist and my cousin Kevin Duda on drums, who is a great player and a fantastic addition to the band."

Sullivan's writing process varies from song to song. "I usually start with an idea, which could be a lyric, melody, character, setting, emotion, news story…whichever one I start with I then work to build the other elements around. Occasionally the stars align and it all happens at once ("Goodness James") and sometimes I have to labor over the song for six months ("Every Day")." The result is an album that shimmers at times and aches with longing at others and is bolstered by a classically buoyant pop sensibility, a trace of lap steel and an open-sky voice.

I love music, I love hope, I know that; Trees are tall, The earth is round, Laughter is sweet, Tears are salty. Ice cream melts (but who wants to live in a freezer), Fame is an illusion, Metrosexuality is stupid, Lemons are better than oranges, Stars are dusty fireballs (not famous people) and doing lots of the things you love makes you happy.

What I want is; to live by the sea, in a mansion, surrounded by pineapple trees. When I grow up I want to live off music, write some good songs and barter them at local markets for organic fruit and veg. One day I am going to record in famous studios with really expensive delicate equipment. I want to travel to places where the sun is not just a state of mind and people don't understand what I'm singing. Right now I Live in the City, I pay rent, I live hand to mouth. I play with a full band including two backing vocalists, a drummer and a bass player. We will only play venues that will feed us!

Hot and dirty rock and roll lead by axe-weilding, fire-breathing mob-boss mamma Sassy Kraimspri. Her gang of thugs sways and thumps along with her on their uncompramising rock and roll crime spree to the top. Pop-sensibilities choked on Norse Black Metal roots, mixed with a love for 40s blues and old school punk make for the tantalizing mix that is Sassy Kraimspri's sound. Born in on the raging South Coast of Norway and raised in the punk rock world of underground New York City, Sassy then spent six years slaving away at University and living it up in Sydney's rock and roll centre- already an international musician before her first full-length release. A gig veteran at 26, she has countless gems of live moments under her belt, most shiny and most recently: CBGB's (New York, USA '06), North By North East (Toronto, Canada '06) and the Quart Festival (Norway '07- notably sharing a bill with The Who, fellow Norwegian rock gods Turbonegro, the Beastie Boys and Juliette and the Licks). known for her sexy and energetic live show and the her band's tight, hard-hitting backing. All this has been punctuated by fabulous smaller gigs here and there all over Australia, Norway and the US. She is now ready with her debut album, "Dirty White Lies" and she has assembled a gang of worthy and spree-hungry thugs. Together they are gearing up for an early 2008 release through her own record label, Lady Luck Records in Norway, and a late 2007 release through October Party Records in the world's most populated country, China! December sees her pick up and fly back to old haunts in Australia, a gig here, a gig there, and a good old fashioned shrimp on the baaaabie with a noice cold tallie. Ladies and Gentlemen, we ain't seen nothin' yet.
